Aftermarket Dodge 2500-3500 1981-1993 Bumper Kits

The Dodge 2500-3500, model years 1981 to 1993, was a full-size pickup truck that was part of the D Series lineup. This series of trucks had been in production since 1972 and continued for over two decades until the 1994 Ram was introduced. These vehicles were known for their toughness, power, and utility when it came to both pleasure and work related tasks.

The 1981-1993 Dodge 2500-3500s were available with either two-wheel or four-wheel drive, although most buyers opted for the four-wheel drive so they could take advantage of the additional power and capability that the 4x4 afforded. The 2500-3500 was available in regular cab (single row) or extended cab (double row) configurations. In addition, these vehicles came with a variety of engine options including the 3.7 L (225 cu in) Chrysler Slant-6, 5.2L (318 cu in) LA V8, 5.9L (360 cu in) LA V8, 6.6L (400 cu in) B V8, and 8.0L (488 cu in) Magnum V10. All of these engines were mated to either a three-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission or a four-speed manual gearbox, with most engines using the latter.

The design of the 1981-1993 Dodge 2500-3500 was straightforward but rugged. The body was relatively square and boxy, with sharp lines running across the length and width of the frame. The grille was composed of several rectangular slats, while the headlights were situated on top of the squared-off front fascia. The rear of the truck featured a steel bumper with an integrated step and two large exhaust pipes.

The interior of the Dodge 2500-3500 was simple yet spacious, with enough room to accommodate a family of five. The dashboard was straightforward and easy to understand, with all the necessary features such as power windows, air conditioning, and a radio being easily accessible. A wide bench seat in the front was standard, while cloth seating was available as an option.

The main attraction of the 1981-1993 Dodge 2500-3500 was its capabilities. These trucks were built tough, with a payload capacity of up to 5,000 pounds and towing capacity of up to 10,500 pounds. When properly equipped, the Dodge 2500-3500 could also climb grades of up to 45 degrees.

In addition to their raw power, these vehicles also boasted reliability and durability. The suspension was designed to absorb uneven terrain and the frame was reinforced with thicker steel than usual, making them capable of heavy-duty work.

The Dodge 2500-3500s from the 1981-1993 model years were some of the best pickup trucks ever produced. They were reliable, tough, and packed with plenty of power and capability to handle just about any task. With their straightforward design and durable construction, these trucks remain highly sought after today by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
