Aftermarket Chevy 1500 1973-1987 Bumper Kits

The Chevrolet 1500 (also called a Chevy C/K or simply C/K) is a full-size pickup truck that was produced by the American automaker General Motors from model year 1973 to 1987. The C/K series of trucks were available in a variety of bodystyles and configurations, including two-door regular cabs, four-door extended cab models, and an array of bed sizes ranging from 6.5ft to 8ft. The C/K 1500 was a popular choice for both personal and professional users, as it offered plenty of power for towing, hauling, and off-roading, as well as competitive pricing and good fuel economy, especially when compared to its competitors in the full-size pickup truck segment.

Whilst the Chevrolet 1500 was produced from 73-87, there were however, significant generational differences between the various years and model codes. The first generation of C/K 1500s ran from 1973 to 1987, and they had a boxy, traditional look to them, with a relatively basic interior. The exterior body styles ranged from two-door regular cabs, to four-door extended cabs, as well as different bed sizes, ranging from 6.5 to 8 feet. The first gen C/K 1500 was powered by a variety of engine options, including a 4.1L inline-6, 5.0L V8, 5.7L V8, 7.4L V8, and a 5.7L diesel engine.

The second generation C/K 1500s ran from 1988 to 1991, and they had a more modern look and feel to them than the previous generation. The exterior body style of the second gen C/K 1500 was similar to the first gen, but the overall design was much sleeker and more aerodynamic. The interior was also updated to include a number of luxury amenities, such as power windows and locks, adjustable driver's seat, cruise control, and even an optional sunroof. Engine wise, the second gen C/K 1500 was powered by a variety of engines, including a 4.3L V6, 5.0L V8, 5.7L V8, 7.4L V8, and a 6.5L diesel engine.

The third and final generation of C/K 1500s ran from 1992 to 1999, and they had a squared-off look that was reminiscent of the first gen. The exterior body styles of the third gen C/K 1500 were similar to the previous generations, with the same range of regular- and extended cabs, as well as 6.5 to 8ft bed sizes. The interior was significantly updated from the previous generations, with the addition of a number of luxury amenities, such as an upgraded sound system, power steering, and air conditioning. The engines available in the third gen C/K 1500 were a 4.3L V6, 5.0L V8, 5.7L V8, 7.4L V8, and a 4.3L diesel engine.

The Chevrolet 1500 was a popular choice for consumers looking for a reliable full-size pickup truck in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. With a range of body styles, a variety of powerful engine options, and competitive pricing, the C/K 1500 was a great choice for those needing a workhorse truck that could handle any job on the ranch, farm, or worksite. To this day, the Chevy 1500 remains a popular choice with those who like to tinker and customize their vehicles, thanks to its robust build and classic styling.
