Aftermarket GMC Suburban 1500 1967-1972 Bumper Kits

The General Motors Corporation (GMC) Suburban 1500 was one of the company’s most popular models from 1967 through 1972. It was a full-size SUV that offered comfort, convenience, and off-road capability. The model was available with two different engine choices, a variety of colors and trim packages, as well as innovative amenities for its time.

The GMC Suburban 1500 first hit the market as a two-door hardtop with a V8 engine. The base model came equipped with an 8-cylinder, 4.1-liter engine producing 145 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. This gave the vehicle more than enough power to tackle off-road adventures. In addition to the standard engine, customers could opt for a 305 cu in (5.0L) V8 with 170 hp and 245 lb-ft of torque for improved performance.

In terms of exterior design, the GMC Suburban featured a boxy shape with a sloping hood and chrome grille. The model was also equipped with a variety of colors, including white, blue, red, and green. To further differentiate the vehicle from its competitors, GMC offered trim packages such as the Deluxe and Royal trim models, which featured gold striping and distinctive exterior body panels.

Inside, the model featured a roomy cabin with seating for up to 8 passengers. The Suburban was one of the first vehicles to offer air conditioning as an optional extra, with the Deluxe and Royal trims offering a factory-installed air conditioner. Other features included power windows, adjustable seats, and a three-speed transmission.

GMC also incorporated a few additional features to make the Suburban safer. This included seatbelts in all seating positions, as well as a padded dash, collapsible steering column, and safety glass. As a result, the model received positive ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

In terms of overall performance, the GMC Suburban 1500 was able to conquer terrain with ease, thanks to its strong engine and suspension system. The off-road capability was further enhanced by the vehicle's four-wheel drive system, which allowed it to traverse difficult terrain such as sand and rocks. And, with its powerful engine, the GMC Suburban 1500 could tackle inclines and declines with ease.

Overall, the GMC Suburban 1500 proved to be a reliable, safe, and capable vehicle from 1967 to 1972. With its robust engine, roomy interior, and off-road capability, it was one of the most popular SUVs on the market. And, its combination of power, comfort, and safety made it a great choice for both on-road and off-road adventures.
