Aftermarket Chevy 2500-3500 1999-2002 LD Bumper Kits
Chevrolet's 2500 and 3500 models of trucks in the years 1999 to 2002 were part of the Light Duty (LD) line up. They featured rear-wheel drive, extended cab options on single and double cabs, and a selection of powertrains including 6.0L V8 and 7.4L V8 engines for the 2500 and 3500 models respectively. The LD models also received a number of exterior styling updates, as well as a host of interior features and options to make them more comfortable and luxurious.
The exterior of the LD models received a redesigned front end with a full-width grille, new headlamp designs, higher ground clearance, and a redesigned hood. The rear of the truck got a new tailgate design and larger rear lighting. The interior of the 2500 and 3500 models was improved with a greater focus on creature comforts. The interiors of all models now had cloth seating options and a range of convenience features such as power windows, power locks, and keyless entry systems.
In terms of power and performance, the 6.0L V8 engine of the 2500 and 3500 models provided plenty of power and torque for the vehicles. The 7.4L V8 engine of the 3500 model was stronger and boasted an impressive 360 horsepower. Both engines were mated to four-speed automatic transmissions with overdrive, making them ideal for long drives or heavy loads.
Safety was a big priority for the LD models, which received a range of safety features including front and rear airbags, child safety locks, and ABS brakes. The interior also came with adjustable lumbar support for the driver and front passenger, as well as a variety of entertainment options such as AM/FM radio, CD player, and a cassette deck.
The LD models of the Chevy 2500 and 3500 provided ample room for hauling cargo and passengers, as well as plenty of power and performance for those who wanted it. The wide range of features and options available made them suitable for a variety of uses, from daily driving to long-distance hauling. With its combination of reliability, power, comfort, and safety, the LD models of the Chevy 2500 and 3500 were an attractive choice for truck owners in the 1999 to 2002 period.
